Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton sent a video message Wednesday to the delegates at the IAM’s 39th Grand Lodge Convention. The delegates sent a strong message of solidarity right back, passing a resolution reaffirming their support of Clinton and resolving to elect her president.

“You’ve had my back and I’ll always have yours,” said Clinton. “If I’m elected, labor will always have a champion in the White House and seat at the table. We’ll say no to TPP and other bad trade deals; no to a tax on workers; no to attempts to undermine the right to organize and bargain collectively, because right-to-work is wrong for workers and wrong for America.”

Lake Charles, LA Local 407 President and Democratic National Convention Delegate Charles Bennett took to the floor in support of Clinton, an honorary Machinist Union member.

“This has been eight years in the making,” Bennett said after the session. “We are finally going to get the chance to elect her to be the first woman President of the United States.”
