The IAM is a fundraising partner with Guide Dogs of America and Tender Loving Canines to advance this important cause. Guide Dogs of America Russ President Gittlen took the floor during the 2022 Grand Lodge Convention to thank IAM members for their ongoing partnership and urged them to continue supporting this critical cause
The biggest and most important thank you I have to give is to you, the delegates,” said Director of Guide Dogs of America (GDA) Russ Gittlen. “Without you, we wouldn’t be able to fulfill our mission of transforming lives with partnerships with service dogs.”
Gittlen was appointed as Director of Guide Dogs of America (GDA) in 2017 and has served the IAM in various roles for nearly three decades.
Gittlen has actively supported Guide Dogs of America for many years, helping to raise funds consistently and increasing the number of guide dog teams graduating each year.
Since its founding through donations by the IAM in 1948, Guide Dogs of America in Sylmar, CA, has helped people with vision impairment, children with autism, and veterans with physical disability and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder by training and providing service dogs at no cost.
